Search for documents and files stored on your networked computers and servers - Surveyor Enterprise provides a sensitive data search and monitoring portal for remotely searching computers, fileservers, SANs, NAS and databases.  The remote indexing software runs in the background, keeping most operations local and off the network until a search or export request is received.  Surveyor can also be configured agentless to remotely index networked filesystems.  Export your search results to CSV files for further data analysis and reporting.  Click here to see the latest Surveyor Enterprise console screen shot.

Simple installation and maintenance - the client software can be network deployed using Active Directory or SMS-like silent installation tools and can be configured for “stealth” user-unobserved searching by trusted IT administrators and security staff. Software updates, Desktop deployment and software removal are handled internally within our application.

Search for patterns found in SSN, PII, PCI, Sarbox and HIPAA information - in addition to finding a specific pattern (123-45-6789), Surveyor can also search for wildcard patterns (xxx-xx-xxxx) using our regular expression-capable search engine.  This supports searches for all content that matches certain alphanumeric patterns such as social security numbers, credit card numbers, personal credit information, health care-related information, email addresses, and telephone numbers.  This powerful search capability is a major enhancement over software that only supports key word Boolean term searches.

Automatic operation and notifications - Surveyor Enterprise can automatically download the desired search policies and have the client software run the searches locally.  Hit summary data can then be periodically uploaded to the Enterprise server, giving the administrator the latest view and listing of tagged data with corresponding search summaries.  This feature is helpful for searching and monitoring mobile and geographically-dispersed workforces that connect to the server at different and multiple times during the day, week or month.

EDM workflow to help inventory and manage your sensitive data - Administrators can use Surveyor’s EDM workflow to identify and remediate sensitive data that should either 1.) remain based on job role justification, 2.) be moved to a more secure storage location so not to be compromised due to equipment loss, or 3.) be deleted from the filesystem or database.  Files can be tagged with one of five statuses: Evaluate, Submit, Guidance, Approved or Cleared.  Monitoring and then exporting a summary of all tagged data files creates your sensitive data inventory listing.  Future searches can omit these tagged files to help minimize redundant file reviews.

Use Surveyor Desktop to promote employee self-service sensitive data monitoring - deploy Surveyor Desktop so that employees can better manage their data and to monitor their computers for the proper use and storage of corporate sensitive files and documents.
